Awal Refrigeration & Air-conditioning was established in 1963 by Mr. Ahmed Abdulla Khalid Alkhaja. It is a well established business organization in Kingdom of Bahrain involved in HVAC contracting, manufacturing and supplying commercial kitchen and laundry equipments, MEP contracting, marketing and distribution.

The company started as workshop in the 1960's for maintenance services and with Mr. Ahmed Abdulla Khalid Alkhaja's vision and foresight, the small workshop has now blossomed into Awal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning workshop at Mina Salman & Sitra.

With the support of his children, it has grown into a group of companies offering civil, electrical, mechanical contracting services as well as manufacturing of kitchen and laundry equipments, water heaters, water coolers, cold room panels, coils & air conditioning units, air conditioners, architectural stainless steel products, garbage & linen chutes etc.

The company also exports and embarks on projects outside Bahrain. Being a pioneer in MEP Building Services, the company also started manufacturing garbage chutes and lines chutes
