- About
Surah Waqiah is the 56th chapter of the Holy Quran and consists of 96 verses. It was revealed in Makkah and is well known for its powerful description of the Day of Judgment, the division of people into different groups, and the rewards and consequences awaiting them in the Hereafter. The name "Al-Waqiah" means "The Inevitable Event" or "The Event That Will Surely Occur," referring to the certainty of the Day of Resurrection.
This Surah reminds believers that worldly life is temporary and that every person will ultimately be accountable for their actions. It vividly describes the condition of the righteous, the people closest to Allah, and those who reject faith. Through its strong and meaningful verses, Surah Waqiah encourages reflection, gratitude, and preparation for the life after death.
