Lisa Sicre was born and raised in Sweden. Her parents where big fans of contemporary design back then–the era of the sixties as we know it today. From a young age Lisa grew up surrounded by captivating furniture designs. In turn, the beauty and creativity that her parents bestowed upon their home inspired her love for interior design.

Fast forward several decades and Lisa has spent the last 30 years designing, creating products and organizing living spaces blending her client’s preferences with her own sense of style. It was while working in the world of interior design that Lisa discovered the infinite possibilities that lampshades can offer to a living space. She also discovered that the Middle Eastern market had a lack of places where to buy custom-made lampshades. After an in-depth market analysis, Lisa decided to start her own business, known today as Lampshades Dubai.

Lighting is a critical aspect of any room, office, lobby, and yacht or even a garden. In northern Europe where the winter months are long and dark, lighting is one of the most important aspects of everyday life. Lisa’s Nordic heritage blended with her unique style has led Lampshades Dubai to be one of the Gulf’s go-to companies for specially made lampshades. Lisa has worked with numerous private clients throughout the Gulf in addition to some of the most well known luxury and hospitality brands today, including The One and Only Group, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, The Edition Abu Dhabi, Amazonica Restaurant, The Mandarin Oriental in Qatar, Il Borro in Jumeirah Al Nasseem and the Four Seasons on Descroches Island, Seychelles.

When Lisa is not designing new lampshades or lighting collections, she seeks inspiration for new products from her many travels, visits to trade shows and from trends in the media. Lisa is also working with her suppliers to develop a sustainable replacement of PVC to reduce plastic usage in lampshades.
